We shine brightly in Room 8!

We designed our own patterns in our light bulbs using dye, pompoms and glitter. They show how much we SHINE! We had fun writing about how we shine. 🌟

Our Animal habitats

In Room 8 today we made animal habitats. We collected natural materials from outside and things we could find in our class to create a habitat for our animals.
It was so much fun and we are really proud of the way they turned out!

Maths Week 2019

This week we have had fun making our: Name Symmetrical Butterflies.

We had to make sure that the patterns on the wings were exactly the same - so that they are symmetrical!

We worked hard on these and are so happy with the way they came out.

Our Heritage

Turangawaewae - A place to stand.

"I am a strong learner when I know who I am, where I am from and what my place is in my world."

In Room 8 we talked about where we were born and where our family is from. It was fun learning about each other and sharing all about our families. We found out that some of us were born overseas and some of us speak a different language at home.

Teddy Bears Picnic

The Year 0 and Year 1 classes had a Teddy Bears Picnic on Tuesday and it was so much fun!

We had teddy bear races, we sang songs, we danced to the Gummy Bear song and at the end we listened to a story while we ate our morning tea.

What an awesome morning Rooms 8, 9a, 10 and 13 had together!

National Sea Week 4-8 March

This week is National Sea Week. Room 8 talked about how we can protect our sea creatures and take care of the beach by picking up rubbish. We know that only water should go down the drain, not paint, detergent or soap. The children also know that plastic bags are dangerous for the animals in the ocean. We had lots of fun drawing sea creatures and making this sea wall.

Bubbles, Bubbles, Bubbles!

Today Miss White used her bubble wand in class and we had lots of fun trying to catch the bubbles, letting the bubbles land on us and blowing the bubbles around! Then we wrote stories about how much fun we had.

Hard at work in Room 8!

On Friday Room 8 published our first story for the year. We took them home to share with our families.
